In Eugene, Darnell hit .373 with 25 hits, six doubles, one triple and two home runs and 11 RBI. He split the 2009 season with the Fort Wayne TinCaps (Low-A) and the Lake Elsinore Storm (High-A).

Selected by the Padres in the fourth round of the 2007 draft, infielder Lance Zawadski played 25 games for the Emeralds in 2007. He hit .272 with 27 hits, four doubles, one triple, two homers and 14 RBI. He spent the majority of the 2008 season with the Fort Wayne TinCaps (Low-A) and split the 2009 season with the Lake Elsinore Storm (High-A) and the San Antonio Missions (Double-A).
